evaluation policy and explanation
A FOCUS ON OBJECTIVE TESTING
SVMHA has adopted the use of the Hockey Canada National Skills Standards and Testing Program (NSST) as the method by which we use objective testing to benchmark all our players in comparison to their peers.
This is a series of individual skill tests have been designed to measure the skill level of players. The tests will be administered by independent testers.
Once tested, players will be placed with their skill peers and participate in a series of evaluation scrimmages where independent evaluators and coaches will use game play to identify those players who should be advanced to a higher skill group.
At no point in the evaluation process will a parent be testing their child.
VIDEO CHANGE
The shooting station shown in the video is not used in the testing. We have changed it.
We now use a shooter tuter as shown in the written description of the stations.
